Bowling Green hosting District 6AA Tournament

Fans of the Mississippi Association of Independent Schools District 6AA will be heading to Bowling Green this week for the league’s tournament.
The boys’ and girls’ event takes place Tuesday, Friday and Saturday.
At stake is a spot in the Class AA South State Tournament, which is Feb. 9, 10, 11, 13 and 14 at Brookhaven Academy.
The top three teams advance.
The tournament begins Tuesday with a doubleheader.
At 6 p.m., the fifth-seeded Ben’s Ford Christian School’s boys take on No. 4 Central Private.
After that, the girls take the floor, with fourth-seeded Ben’s Ford Christian School facing fifth-seeded Central Private.
The winners of those games both play top-seeded Bowling Green Friday.
The boys’ game tips off at 6:30 p.m. while the girls contest gets under way at 7:45 p.m.
The losing teams are eliminated.
Friday features a quadruple header.
Going back to the boys’ bracket, second-seeded Silliman Institute plays Centreville.
The winning and losing teams play each other Saturday. The losing squads go against each other at 2 p.m. while the winners play at 4:30 p.m.
In the girls, second-seeded Centreville takes on third-seeded Silliman Institute Friday. Like the boys’ bracket, the winning and losing teams play each other.
The losing teams are set for 3:15 p.m., with the winning teams battling it out at 5:45 p.m.
