Bogalusa strong in second half in win

Bogalusa used a big second half to be victorious over Jewel Sumner, 81-66, in Tuesday’s District 8-3A contest at home.

The game was tied, 35-35, at halftime.

Kenyatta Scott scored 22 points to lead the Lumberjacks while Kenneth Robertson finished with 20.

Laster Hills posted 14, and Tré Short put up 10 in the victory.

Pine downs Pope John Paul II

Pine’s Hunter Cooper scored 19 points, as the Raiders were victorious over Pope John Paul II, 68-47 in District 8-2A play Tuesday at Pine.

Trey Cooper finished with 13 points, and Jordan Phelps had 12 in the victory.

Pine led, 18-5, after the first period

Varnado falls to Archbishop Hannan

Varnado’s Wildcats suffered a 52-44 loss to Archbishop Hannan in non-district play at Hannan Tuesday.

Delrick Abrams led VHS with 19 points. D.J. Jefferson posted 13, and Damon Kirsch added seven.

Ben’s Ford wins against Hattiesburg

Ben’s Ford Christian School’s Bryan Johnson registered 35 points in a 62-50 victory over Hattiesburg out of Mississippi on the road Tuesday.

Varnado victorious over Kentwood

Varnado’s D.J. Jefferson scored 21 points and Delrick Abrams had 18 in a 75-60 victory over Kentwood in a District 6-1A contest at home last Friday.

Nick Darden scored 16 points. Andre Jones, who finished with six points, got his first-career dunk in the Wildcats’ victory.

Mt. Hermon defeats Pine

Mt. Hermon’s Corterio Williams scored 27 points in a 61-51 victory over Pine last Friday in District 8-2A play at Mt. Hermon.

Jessie Pouncey put up 16 for the Yellow Jackets while George Sandifer recorded nine.

Gerald Bunch posted three points. James Roberts, Devin Smith and Joseph Magee added two each in the victory.

Ben’s Ford downs Central Private

Ben’s Ford Christian School’s Destin Pittman scored 25 points in a 69-47 win against Central Private at home last Friday in District 6AA play.

Bryan Johnson also had a big game for Ben’s Ford, scoring 20 points in the Eagles’ victory.

Franklinton loses to East Jefferson

Franklinton’s Demons suffered a 60-54 setback to East Jefferson last Friday at home.

Tray Anders led Franklinton with 22 points.

Bowling Green falls to Simpson

Bowling Green suffered a 59-43 loss to Simpson Academy in last Friday’s game held on the road.

Brady Goings topped Bowling Green in scoring, putting up 11 points. He hit all five of his shot attempts and pulled down a rebound.

Connor McCain scored 10 points while pulling down seven rebounds and blocking a shot.

Jordan Barnes finished with nine points, three boards, two assists and a steal.

Dylan Varnado totaled four points, two rebounds, an assist and a steal.

K.J. Robertson posted three points, five boards, an assist and a steal.

Bryan Ottinger, Jace Ball and Jared Gambino tallied three points each.

Ottinger had a rebound, Ball dished out two assists, and Gambino posted one assist.

Bowing Green is hosting the District 6AA Tournament starting Tuesday.

Pine rolls past Pope John Paul II

Pine’s Breyanna Brown led the Lady Raiders’ scoring attack with 20 points in a 59-22 win over Pope John Paul II at home Tuesday in District 8-2A play.

Morgan Thomas totaled 14 points, and Laken Breedlove posted 10, as nine players scored for Pine.

Varnado loses to Archbishop Hannan

Varnado lost to Archbishop Hannan, 68-53, in non-district action held at Hannan Tuesday.

Yienna Kemp was Varnado’s leading scorer with 25 points. Breanna Holmes finished with nine.

Kenisha Kemp totaled seven while Quierra Bickham recorded five.

Ke’arria Green and Tiairria Green both had three and Chloe Foster added two.

Ben’s Ford comes up short against Hattiesburg

Ben’s Ford Christian School lost to Hattiesburg out of Mississippi, 55-47, in Tuesday’s road game.

Savanna Smith posted 20 points for Ben’s Ford while Liv Miley put up 16.

Pine wins against Mt. Hermon

Pine defeated Mt. Hermon, 50-23, in a District 8-2A game held last Friday at Mt. Hermon.

Nicole Riley and Diamond Pouncey were Mt. Hermon’s scoring leaders with seven each.

Jada Norman finished with five while Kailee Hughes and Keasha Banks both had two.

Bowling Green victorious over Simpson

Bowling Green put three players in double figures, as the Lady Buccaneers defeated Simpson Academy on the road last Friday.

Ashley Foret led her team’s scoring with 12 points. She also had eight boards, six steals and two assists.

Reagan Moody finished with 11 points, eight boards, six steals, two assists and a block.

Hollie Waskom totaled 10 points, four rebounds, two steals, a block and an assist.

Katelin Junkins posted five points, three boards, a block and a steal.

McKinley Seal had four points, five rebounds, six assists and four steals.

Kristina Jerrell and Cailee Fruge logged three and two points, respectively, in Bowling Green’s win.

Jerrell grabbed two rebounds to go with an assist and a block.

Fruge also had a rebound for the Lady Bucs

Bowling Green is hosting the District 6AA Tournament beginning Tuesday.

Ben’s Ford’s Savanna Smith scored 25 points in the Lady Eagles’ 52-44 victory over Central Private in a District 6AA contest last Friday at home.
