Louella W. Applewhite

Louella G. Williams Applewhite, a native of Pine and a resident of Madisonville, passed away Sunday, Jan. 25, 2015, in St. Tammany Parish Hospital at the age of 77.

She is survived by one daughter, Betty (Payne) Diez of Mandeville; five sons, Glenn (Marion) Williams of Madisonville, Barney (Cheri) Williams of Folsom, Ken (Lisa) Williams of Bogalusa, Greg (Danielle) Williams of Wilmer, La., and Eric (Elaine) Williams of Madisonville; three brothers, Lucious (Dolly) Crain of Pine, David Crain of Colorado and Donald Ray (Sue) Crain of Pine; 19 grandchildren; and 21 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husbands, Jack Williams and Elbert Applewhite, her parents, Obie and Inis Graves; her stepfather, Arnold Crain; and four brothers, Delton Graves, Huey Graves, Walter Graves and Arnold Crain Jr.

Visitation was held Monday, Jan. 26, 2015, from 5 until 9 p.m. at Poole-Ritchie Funeral Home Chapel. Visitation continued on Tuesday, Jan. 27, from 9 a.m. until service time of noon. Interment was at Ponemah Cemetery with Pastor Denny Jenkins officiating.
