Pine falls to St. Thomas Aquinas

Pine suffered a 5-0 loss to St. Thomas Aquinas in a District 7-III contest held on the road last Saturday.

Pine coach Trey Jenkins said his team’s defense played well.

He said the midfielders played great, led by Christian Edwards.

GIRLS

Franklinton defeats Pine

Franklinton won 7-0 in a home game against Pine Wednesday. Three Lady Demons found the net twice each, including Abby McNeal, Bailey Fournier and Alex Wyble. Katie Herbert tallied on a penalty kick.

Franklinton blanks Salmen

Franklinton’s Abby McNeal scored two goals in a 5-0 victory over Salmen Tuesday in District 6-II matchup.

Brianna Augustine-Meredith, Natalie Gulczynski and Claire Harper netted one goal each in the victory for the homestanding Lady Demons.

Pine falls to STA

Pine suffered a 13-0 loss to a tough St. Thomas Aquinas team on the road last Saturday in a District 7-III contest. St. Thomas is 11-6-2 this season. Four of the six losses have come against teams ranked in the top 10 of their divisions. The rankings are by the Louisiana High School Soccer Coaches’ Association. STA lost to E.D. White, which is seventh in Division II. St. Thomas has also lost two Division III teams, including top ranked Pope John Paul II and twice to No. 6 Northlake Christian School.
