Rodney J. Colletti, a resident of Brusly, died at his home on Dec. 29, 2014. He was 64.

He was born in Bogalusa on March 2, 1950, and moved with his family to Baton Rouge, where they lived for several years. He attended St. Gerard Majella Elementary. He graduated from Bogalusa High in 1968. He attended Southeastern Louisiana University, where he studied computer programming. He worked for the City of Baton Rouge for a number of years and later founded R.J. Colletti Speaker Systems.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph and Anna Kramer Collette of Bogalusa; a sister, Mary Annette Collette of St. Amant; a nephew, Mark Sweet of Baton Rouge; and his beloved dog, Jazz.

He is survived by two sisters, Rosalie Sweet of Denham Springs and Margaret Collette of Bogalusa. He is also survived by eight nieces and nephews and their families: nephew Michael Sweet and wife, Johnna, of Denton, Texas; niece Reeda Sweet of Baton Rouge; nephew Mel Sweet and his wife, Vickie, Denham Springs; nephew G. Perry Babin II of Gonzales; niece M. Collette Lambert and husband, Brent, of Gonzales; beloved niece Dawn Babin and her children, Danielle and Dalton, of Gonzales; nephew Bryan Pierce of Bogalusa; and nephew Jason Pierce and wife of Bogalusa; and his beloved dog, Cupid.

Rodney was a member of Buddhist society and fervently embraced the causes of the Louisiana SPCA (www.la-spca.org) and PETA (www.peta.org), to which memorial donations can be made. A memorial service celebrating Rodney’s life will take place Sunday, Jan. 11, 2015, at The Venue Reception Hall, 13475 Louisiana Highway 431, St. Amant, at 2:30 p.m.
