Vernice Mitzenberg

Vernice Carolyn Fremin Roussell Mitzenberg, born on Jan. 11, 1916, in New Orleans to Louis L. Fremin and Caroline Bertoniere Fremin, passed away on Friday, Nov. 21, 2014, at her residence in Bogalusa.

She was a member of Zion Lutheran Church for 95 years. She was the owner of Family Bakery.

She is survived by three daughters, Donner Boudreaux (Larry) of Gonzales, Alicia St. Romaine of Baton Rouge and Patricia Miller and son-in-law, Buddy, of Bogalusa; two sons, Leslie J. Roussell Jr. (Mary Ann) of Modesto, Calif., and Paul Mitzenberg (Vicki) of McComb, Miss.; 16 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; and six great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husbands, Leslie J. Roussell and Arthur P. Mitzenberg; her parents, Louis Leo Fremin and Caroline Bertoniere Fremin; and two brothers, Louis Fremin Jr. and George W. Fremin.

Visitation will be held at Zion Lutheran Church on Monday, Nov. 24, 2014, from 10:30 a.m. until 2 p.m. The funeral service will be at 2 p.m., with the Rev. Bob Belknap officiating. Interment will follow at Ponemah Cemetery.
