Saturday’s Fall Bash at Cassidy Park raised approximately $4,600 for the Pine Basketball Association.

The event was a fundraiser for the Pine Basketball Association for a new floor at the old Pine gymnasium. A water leak two years ago ruined the floor.

The Fall Bash included a number of activities for children and adults. Event official Sherri Phelps estimated approximately 450 people came out to support the association.

Activities included a silent auction, children’s games and activities, such as football and basketball throws, pony rides, bounce houses, hole-in-one golf, balloon pops and a magic show. Also, winners were crowned in a “beauty” contest.

Other activities entertainment included an antique car show and a 5K run and 1K walk.

“I think the day went really smooth,” Pine Basketball Association Board member Sherri Phelps said. “We were thankful to everyone who came out.”

Phelps said she and fellow board member Nikki Crain were somewhat anxious about how well the day would go, but their fears were quickly put to rest.

“Nikki and I both were nervous, but we both think it went really well,” Phelps said.

Crain had the same thought.

“We’d just like to thank the community for all their support on Saturday,” Crain said.

The floor at the old Pine gymnasium is expected to be ready for play next month.

The association has other fundraisers scheduled in the near future.
