Edna Joyce Haarala Wascom, age 82 and a resident of Bogalusa, was born on May 13, 1932, passed away on Thursday, November 13, 2014 at Our Lady Of The Angels Hospital in Bogalusa.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Edward H. “Sug” Wascom; her parents, Emile Haarala and Eva S. Clements Haarala; one stepson, Edward Allen Wascom; one sister, Gaynell Montagnino; and five brothers, Emile Haarala Jr., John Earl Haarala, J.T. Haarala, Bobby Haarala and Richard Haarala.

She is survived by two daughters, Sissy Wascom (Kelley) Sharp and Celia (Edward) Cutrer; two sons, David H. (Sheree) Wascom and Greg C. (Patti) Wascom; nine grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.

Visitation was held at Poole-Ritchie Funeral Home on Saturday, Nov. 15, 2014, from 10 a.m. until 3 p.m. The funeral services were at 3 p.m., with the Rev. Bob Belknap officiating. Interment will follow at Ponemah Cemetery.
