Robert James Brown, 50, of Bogalusa, departed this life on Oct. 24, 2014, at Northshore Specialist Hospital in Covington.

Visitation will be held from 2 to 6 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 7, 2014, at Crain and Sons Funeral Home chapel in Bogalusa, followed by a family hour from 6 to 7 p.m. Services are at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Nov. 8, 2014, at Brown Chapel C.O.G.I.C. in Bogalusa, with Elder Leon Chambers, Pastor officiating. Interment will be in the Bogalusa Cemetery.

Survivors include his wife, Mildyounn Brown of Bogalusa; seven children, Princess Brown of Bogalusa, Robert Brown of Tacoma, Wash., and Destiny, Ja’Colby, DeMarcus, L’Jarvis and La’Shabriel Elzey, of Bogalusa; three sisters, Patricia (Reginald) Thompson of Los Angeles, Ellen Brown of Los Angeles and Melisha (James) Phillips of Fontana, Calif.; two brothers, Robbie (Persia) Brown of Seattle and Matthew Brown of Los Angeles; a grandchild, Faith Danielle Brown of Bogalusa; a daughter-in-law, Mariah Brown of Bogalusa; aunts, Martha J. Dallas of Gulfport, Miss., Rosie M. Jefferson, Marilyn Dillon, Gertrude Hughes of Bogalusa, Ellen Patterson and Christina Williams of Canton, Miss., Estelle Jones of Abita Springs, Lula Merriweather of Lima, Ohio, and Darline McCoy of Fort Myers, Fla.; uncles, Marvin, Sanders and William Hughes of Bogalusa, Charlie Hughes of Osyka, Miss., and Manuel (Dorothy), Genie and Henry Brown of Canton, Miss.; and a host of other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his father, Robert Brown; his mother, Mildred; a son, Roderick D. Brown; five uncles; and six aunts.
