Mazie Amacker Tynes, a longtime resident of Bogalusa, passed away on Oct. 22, 2014, at the age of 85. She was born May 5, 1929, to Warren and Sadie Amacker in Pearl River County, Mississippi.

She married J.D. Tynes in 1951 and was a homemaker for their five children. Mazie was a graduate of Poplarville High School and attended Pearl River Community College. She loved visiting with family and friends and enjoyed embroidering and flower gardening. She was of the Baptist faith and had been a resident of Wilkinson County Senior Care in Centreville, Miss., for the past three years.

Mazie was preceded in death by her parents and husband. Her daughter Betty Ann Tynes also preceded her in death two years ago.

She is survived by her sons, David Tynes (Margaret) of Petal, Miss., and Gary Tynes of Pearl, Miss.; two daughters, Pauline Seale (Mike) of Bogalusa and Hettie Tynes of Centreville; six grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

A private family funeral service will be held in Centreville on Oct. 25, 2014, with burial in Crain Cemetery in State Line.
