Nelester Tate was born Sept. 15,1940, to the late Mouton and Hannah Magee Tate. He departed this life on Friday, Aug. 1, 2014, at the Good Samaritan Nursing Home.

He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Ruby Cotton Tate; his three children, Cornelius “Tony,” Vickie and Rhonda; three grandchildren, Jeremy, Victoria and Makayla; and one brother, Denman Tate.

Visitation will be held at Crain and Sons Funeral Home in Franklinton on Friday, Aug. 8, from 2 to 6 p.m., with family hour from 6 to 7 p.m.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, Aug. 9, 2014, at noon at the New Jerusalem Baptist Church, with the Rev. Johnny Causey Sr. officiating. Burial will follow in the Moriah Cemetery.
