JONES
Linda Peters Jones, 58, a resident of Hattiesburg, Miss., was reared in Bogalusa, and born to the late union of Harry and Ardessie Peters. On April 20, 1956, Linda made a glorious entrance as a daughter, sibling and niece.
While Linda achieved scholastically, she attended Bogalusa City Schools and graduated in 1974. Thereafter, Linda attended Grambling State University, as she graduated in 1978. Later in life, she was joined in holy matrimony to J.T. Jones Jr., and one child, Lauren, was born. On May 20, 2014, God called His angel home to rest, eternally.
Linda leaves to cherish her loving husband, J.T. Jones; one daughter, Lauren Jones of Hattiesburg; five stepchildren, Jemaine (Tiffany) Jones of Saginaw, Texas; J.T. Jones III of St. Cloud, Minn.; Tammy Moore, Terrance (Dionna) Jones and Jeffery (April) Jones, Detroit, Mich.; one godson, Gregory Lawrence Jr. of Hammond; two sisters, Deborah (Melvin) Torrence of Hattiesburg, Miss. and Lydia (William) Johnson of Columbia, Tenn.; one brother, Harry (Gloria) Peters Jr. of Gastonia, N.C.; one great-aunt, JaRutha Booth of Bassfield, Miss.; three aunts, Wilene Gordon of Amite and Doris Harper and Lois Harper, both of Bogalusa; two uncles, Floyd Harper of Las Vegas; and Charles Harper of Memphis; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Harry and Ardessie Peters; grandparents, Alex and Louanna Harper; one sister, Patricia Lawrence; and one brother, Robert Harper.
Religious services will be held Sunday, May 25, at 2 p.m. P.M., as the family hour will be from noon until the start of the service at Crain and Sons Funeral Home, 809 E. Third St. in Bogalusa.
