Murry J. “Joey” Duncan, 45, of Mt. Hermon was arrested Sunday by the Washington Parish Sheriff’s Office on additional charges, including molestation of a juvenile, video voyeurism and pornography involving juveniles.
Duncan is a former junior high special education teacher and basketball coach at Mt. Hermon School. His employment with the Washington Parish School System has been terminated, effective April 23.
The Washington Parish Sheriff’s Office arrested Murry J. “Joey” Duncan, 45, April 16 and charged him with pornography involving juveniles, according the Chief Deputy Mike Haley.
While still in jail, he was arrested again on May 1 for two counts of molestation of a juvenile for incidents that occurred in East Baton Rouge Parish. He was transported to the East Baton Rouge Parish Prison for booking there.
Duncan was transported back to Washington Parish Sunday, May 18, and arrested again for one count of molestation of a juvenile, two counts of video voyeurism and 116 counts of pornography involving juveniles.
Bond for those charges was set at $50,000. That is in addition to his previous bonds of $50,000 and $350,000. After his arrest and booking in Washington Parish on May 19, Duncan was transported back to the East Baton Rouge Parish Prison for safekeeping.
“The new charges are the result of hard work by Washington Parish Sheriff’s Office investigators and a forensically trained deputy who did a thorough forensic review of Duncan’s computer and thumb drives,” said Washington Parish Sheriff Randy Seal. “We are fortunate to have someone on our staff who is certified to do forensic computer searches.
“The case against Duncan is strong and solid. I expect he will be out of circulation for a very long time.”
Even with additional arrests, the investigation is ongoing, Haley said.
If anyone is aware of the possible exploitation of any child by Duncan or any other person, they are asked to contact the Washington Parish Sheriff’s Office at 839-3434.
