BROWN

Helen Louise Ramsey Brown, 79, departed this life Thursday, April 24, 2014, at St. Tammany Hospital in Covington, with her loving husband by her side.

She was born on Feb. 20, 1935, and was a resident of Bogalusa.

Remembering her with love is her loving and dedicated husband, Elder Bobby Ray Brown; three daughters, Betty Carter and Patsy Brown, both of Compton, Calif., and Sheila Brown of St. Louis, Mo.; three sons, Dennis (Rochell) Brown of Lithonia, Ga., Eldred Brown of Bogalusa and Caleb Brown of Compton, Calif.; two sisters, Dolly (Robert) Hamilton of Adelanto, Calif., and Irene Ramsey of Portland, Ore.; two brothers, Elder Leroy Ramsey of Los Angeles and Willie Robinson of Livingston, Texas; 13 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; and a host of relatives, friends and her loving church family that will miss her dearly.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Dorothy Hookfin; her father, Harvey (Sweet) Ramsey; and four sisters, Bessie Mixon, Eula Bickham, Lena Magee and Annie Bell Spikes.

Visitation was held Friday, May 2, at Crain and Sons Funeral Home in Bogalusa from 2-5 p.m., followed by a family hour from 5-6 p.m.

Funeral services were conducted at noon on Saturday at St. John Elizabeth Temple Church of God in Christ, 1126 N. Roosevelt St. in Bogalusa, Elder Bobby Ray Brown, pastor, with Bishop Alphonso Denson officiating.

Interment followed in Bogalusa Cemetery.
