WALKER-BEY

Warren Alexander Walker-Bey Jr. departed this life Saturday, April 12, 2014, at Our Lady of the Angels Hospital. He was born in Toledo, Ohio, on July 14, 1940, to Warren Alexander Walker Sr. and Lillie Bell Walker. He graduated from high school and went on to receive an associate’s degree. He was a retired General Motors employee for more than 28 years as a skilled trade mechanic. He was discharged from the U.S. Army with an honorable discharge after serving for two years.

He leaves to cherish his memory a loving wife of eight years, Dinah Pigott Walker-Bey; six daughters, Ameldia Gasth, Monica Woods, Kathy Walker-Bey, Melanie Miller, Casey Mann and Vanessa Lundy; three sons, Warren Alexander Walker-Bey III (Chrissy), Frederick Walker-Bey and Eddie Milton Pigott; six sisters, Laura Jean Walker-Wingate of North Carolina, Willie P. Walker Jones of Columbus, Ohio, Lillie Walker Mayo (Solomon) of Little Rock, Ark., and Juanita Walker, Nadine Wakins and Francis D. Walker, all of Toledo; four brothers, Wiley Dawson, Theodore Alexander Walker and Patrick Walker, all of Tol-edo, and Charles Bene-field of Flint, Mich.; 16 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and a host of relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Warren Alexander Walker Sr. and Lillie Bell Walker; two sons, Timothy Lee Walker-Bey and Dale Walker-Bey; and one brother, Roosevelt Walker.

Visitation was Friday, April 25, at Cook-Richmond Funeral Home in Bogalusa, from 2-6 p.m. The funeral service was conducted on Saturday at 11 a.m. in the funeral home chapel, with the Rev. Dr. Raymond Mims officiating. Interment followed in Louis Moses Cemetery.
