Pre-K 3 Busy Bees in Dee Gibson’s class at Annunciation Catholic School continued with the study of letters of the alphabet. Back in February, the students studied H for Heart (at Valentine’s Day), T for Teddy Bears and M for Mardi Gras.

The students study one letter each week and everything centers around that letter. The students decorated the letter; they felt, laced and traced the capital letter; put pegs in pegboard of the letter, dot painted the letter, made the letter with pattern blocks and letter connectors, and found objects in letter bags, bowls and soup cans.

In addition, they shared snacks, including gummy hearts, ham sandwiches, hot dogs, hamburgers, teddy bears, king cakes and Mardi Gras do-nuts.

The Busy Bees made heart-shaped people, a valentine card for parents, teddy bears, and Mardi Gras masks, shakers, beads and jes-ter hats. On Valentine Day the children wore the mail carrier costume and delivered their valentines.

During “T” week, the children weighed and measured teddy bears, graphed their favorite teddy graham cookie (plain, chocolate or chocolate chip) and on Friday had a teddy bear picnic.

On Friday of “M” week, the children paraded around the school with their crowns, masks, shakers and beads.
