Mary’s Chapel UMC

The annual Family Day Service at Mary’s Chapel United Methodist Church will be Sunday at 3 p.m., hosted by the families of Lillian Roberts, Rosia Walls, Danny L. Robinson Sr., William Mickens, Vernon Foster, Ellis Burrell Sr., Jerry D. Smith and the children of Dee and Marie Foster. The guest speaker will be the Rev. Jerry D. Jones of Mercy Seat Ministries in Fort Walton Beach, Fla.

The public is invited to attend.

True Gospel Missionary Baptist

On Sunday at 2 p.m. True Gospel’s pastor, the Rev. Johnny Johnson, will speak at Abundant Life Missionary Baptist Church for the Pastor’s Anniversary service for the Rev. Rodney Barney.

Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church

The Mt. Pleasant spring revival will begin Sunday and continue through Wednesday, April 30. The guest speaker will be Rev. Dennis Allen, and the worship leader will be John Herring. Sunday school begins at 9 a.m., with the morning worship service at 10:15 a.m. A potluck fellowship dinner will follow the service. At 5 p.m. a pizza party will be held for all youth, followed by Sunday evening worship at 6.

Services Monday through Wednesday will begin at 7 p.m. Everyone is encouraged to join in this time of renewal and fellowship.

Greater Bogalusa Church

Greater Bogalusa Church, 834 Union Ave., and pastor Jerry Newton will host “ A Night with the Preacher Man” featuring Stellar Award recording artist Bishop Rance Allen, on Wednesday, April 30 at 7 p.m., for a night of preaching and singing, including Allen’s hit songs “Something About the Name Jesus,” “Miracle Worker” and “I’m Your Preacher Man.” For VIP packages or more information, call 732-9463.

Sweet Beulah Baptist Church

The 94th anniversary of Sweet Beulah Baptist Church will be celebrated on Sunday at 3 p.m. with Dr. Charles Ray Galloway, pastor of Sunlight Baptist Church of Sandy Hook, Miss., as the guest speaker. The public is invited to attend.

Isabel Baptist Church

Isabel Baptist Church will host evangelist Calvin Crowe in revival Sunday at 6 p.m. and continuing through Wednesday, April 30, at 6:30 p.m. each night. The public is invited to attend.

St. Paul AME Church

The annual Family and Friends Day celebration will be held on Sunday at 3 p.m. at St. Paul AME Church, 420 Church St. in Bogalusa. The speaker will be Elder Earl B. Robinson of Greater Salter Chapel AME Church of Bogalusa.

President Malcolm D. Powell, Elder R.L. Palmer Jr., pastor, and the congregation extend an invitation for the public to attend this special occasion.

Sweet Rest Missionary Baptist

An Appreciation Service for the Rev. Dr. Mallery Callahan Sr. will be held on Sunday at 4 p.m., in recognition of his 16 years of service to the church. The public is invited to attend.

Tylertown First Baptist Church

The 63rd annual National Day of Prayer will be hosted by Tylertown First Baptist Church on Thursday, May 1, at the Southwest Event Center, 29 Highway 48 E. in Tylertown, Miss., beginning at 7 a.m. The event will include a complimentary breakfast. Churches, other organizations and community leaders are encouraged to attend.

Emmanuel Missionary Baptist Church

Emmanuel Missionary Baptist Church, 57500 Knapp Thomas Road in Bogalusa, will hold revival services beginning Sunday and continuing through April 30, with evangelist Bruce Betts as the guest speaker. Sunday services are 10 a.m. and 5 p.m., and services begin at 7 p.m. during the week. Nursery and children’s church will be available for each service. Mt. Moriah Missionary Baptist Church

The 102nd anniversary program will be held Sunday, May 4 at 3 p.m., with guest musical group Youthful Praise. The theme is “Let us Hold Fast to the Profession of our Faith without Wavering.” Hebrews 10:23.

Live Oak United Methodist Church

The Live Oak United Methodist Church choir of Angie will host a musical Sunday, May 18, at 3 p.m. Community choirs and soloists are invited to participate in the program. Pastor Terrence August invites the public to attend.

Greater Ebenezer Baptist Church

Vacation Bible School will begin Monday, June 9 and continue through Friday, June 13. Contact VBS Director Betty Brumfield for more information.

Annunciation Catholic Church

• All 90-year-old-and-older members of Annunciation Church will be honored at a luncheon in Dobyns Center on today at 11 a.m. Rosemary Marx, the most senior member of Annunciation Church, will be honored on her 99th birthday.

• Annunciation School will reopen on Monday.

• The Divine Mercy Novena and Chaplet, which began on Good Friday, will be completed today, Divine Mercy Sunday, at 3 p.m. in the church.

Following the final prayer closing the Novena, everyone will gather at Dobyns Center at approximately 3:45 p.m. for a “Sweets Reception,” which will include snacks, drinks, coffee, cake, cookies, ice cream and root beer floats, as well as Deidra Gibson’s famous Divine Mercy sundaes. This event is sponsored by the Rosary Society. Everyone is invited.

• Yevonne Pierce, a well-known and loved member of Annunciation Church and the community, is leaving Bogalusa to be with her daughters in Lafayette. Her family is hosting a farewell reception for her Saturday, May 3, in Dobyns Center (adjacent to Annunciation Church) from 2-4 p.m. All parishioners, Yevonne’s many friends and her fellow Pink Ladies are invited to attend.
