Washington Parish Fire District 3 will celebrate the grand opening of its new fire station Wednesday at 2 p.m.

There will be a brief ceremony, with parish dignitaries in attendance, and refreshments will be served.

President Justin Porche said the grand opening celebration will also include an open house, which will give residents the opportunity to get a look at the new station.

District 3 serves the Hackley, Hayes Creek, Clifton and Warnerton communities.

The new station, located at the corner of Otto Passman Road and Louisiana Highway 430 (the Hackley highway), will house six trucks, Porche said.

The public is invited to attend.
