KENT

Mary Charlene Lambert Kent, 84, a resident of Franklinton, died at 7:05 a.m. Sunday, April 13, 2014, at Riverside Medical Center. She was born on Dec. 16, 1929, in Lawrence County, Miss., and was a longtime resident of McComb, Miss. Mary was a resident of Riverview Apartments in Franklinton since 1997 and enjoyed quilting and embroidery. She was an excellent cook who was known for generously sharing of her good food with friends and family. She was a member of Hillcrest Baptist Church.

Mary is survived by four daughters and sons-in-law, Barbara and Bobby Stephens of Bogalusa, Patricia Lambert of Slidell, Linda Lambert of Sacramento, Calif., and Nancy and Bruce Bryan of Evening Shade, Ark.; 12 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; two sisters, Velma Shoemaker and Elma Pickett, both of Pearl, Miss.; numerous nieces and nephews; and all of her close friends at Riverview Apartments.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Rueben Kent; three sons, Frank “Buster” Lambert, Wilmer Lambert and Ronnie Lambert; her parents, Thomas Jones Lambert and Addie Mae King Lambert; five brothers, Wayne Lambert, Donald Lambert, J.P. Lambert, Ford Lambert and Jewel Lambert; and two half-sisters.

Visitation was Monday, April 14, from 5-9 p.m. at Crain Funeral Home, and resumed on Tuesday, from 9 a.m. until time for the funeral service at 11 a.m. in the funeral home chapel, with Dr. Gene Richards officiating. Burial followed in Pike Memorial Gardens near McComb.

The family wishes to thank Dr. Luis Alvarado and the staff of Riverside Medical Center for their care and support. Also, Egan Home Health for their wonderful service throughout the past several years.
