Velma Lee Miller White, 91, a resident of Bogalusa, passed away Thursday, April 10, 2014, at Resthaven Living Center in Bogalusa. She was born in Osyka, Miss., on March 23, 1923.

She is survived by one daughter, Zelma Charlene White (Leroy) Graves; a son-in-law, David Kellis; a sister, Dezzie Sprehe; one brother, George Jones Jr.; six grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; eight step-grandchildren; and two step-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Wilburn O. White; a daughter, Selma Kathline White Kellis; her parents, Eugene Miller and Miami Barber Miller; two sisters, Sible Carter and Thelma “Gal” Bennett; and two brothers, E. J. Miller and Ocie Miller.

Visitation will be held Sunday, April 13, at Poole-Ritchie Funeral Home, from 9:30 a.m. until time for the funeral service at 2 p.m. in the funeral home chapel, with the Rev. Patrick Magee officiating. Interment will follow at Ponemah Cemetery.
