Emmett W. Guy Sr., 88, passed away Wednesday, April 9, 2014, at Resthaven Living Center in Bogalusa.

Born on Feb. 4, 1926, he was a lifelong member of Angie Baptist Church, and worked for 51 years in his family grocery business in Angie.

He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Dorothy Crain Guy; two sons, Emmett (Becky) Guy Jr. and Russell Guy, both of Angie; two brothers, Howard Guy Jr. of Liberty, Texas and Douglas Guy of Franklinton; one sister, Doris Pope of Port Arthur, Texas; three granddaughters, Luella (Gavin) McCain of Bogalusa, Angeline Tepec of Hattiesburg, Miss., and Jane (Johnnie) Luna of Angie; eight great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held Friday, April 11, at Poole-Ritchie Funeral Home from 5:30-8 p.m.

Visitation will continue on Saturday in the funeral home chapel from 9 a.m. until time for the funeral service at 10:30 a.m., with the Rev. Larry Mizell officiating.

Interment will follow at Smith Cemetery in Sheridan.
