Two items will be up for vote tomorrow: millage renewals for the Pine-area Washington Parish Fire District 4 and the Enon-area Fire District 8.

Polls will be open from 7 a.m. until 8 p.m.

People will need to bring along a picture ID, preferably a state-issued ID or driver’s license, when voting.

Voters in seven parish precincts, 5/2 and portions of 3/3C, 5/1, 6/3, 7/1, 7/2, 8/3, will have their say on a 10-year renewal of a 15-mills tax for Fire District 4.

The proposition reads:

Shall Washington Parish Fire Protection District No. 4, State of Louisiana (the “District”), continue to levy a special tax of fifteen (15) mills tax on all the property subject to taxation in the District (an estimated $96,000 reasonably expected at this time to be collected from the levy of the tax for an entire year), for a period of ten (10) years, beginning with the year 2015 and ending with the year 2024, for the purpose of acquiring, constructing, improving, maintaining and/or operating fire protection facilities, vehicles and equipment, including both moveable and immovable property, to provide fire protection services for the District?

Also, voters in portions of precincts 3/3, 6/1 and 6/3 will cast their ballot on a 10-year renewal of a six-mill tax for Fire Protection District No. 8.

The item asks voters to choose “yes” or “no” on the following:

Shall Washington Parish Fire Protection District No. 8, State of Louisiana (the “District”), continue to levy a tax of six (6) mills on all the property subject to taxation in the District (an estimated $68,000 reasonably expected at this time to be collected from the levy of the tax for an entire year), for a period of ten (10) years, beginning with the year 2015 and ending with the year 2024, for the purpose of acquiring, constructing, improving, maintaining and/ or operating facilities and equipment for fire protection and emergency medical service in and for the District, including paying the cost of obtaining water for fire protection purposes?
