COTTON

On Friday, March 28, 2014, Janet T. Cotton, 47, transitioned from this temporary life to everlasting and eternal life through Jesus Christ.

She was born on Dec. 19, 1966, the third of four children of Cullie and Claudette Cotton. She was known for her loving, caring and humble spirit.

She leaves to cherish and adore her memories two brothers, Cullie (Amy) Cotton Jr. and Anthony (Carletta) Hall; three sisters, Valerie (Leto) Cotton, Collene Cotton and Trisha (Ricky) Connerly; a nephew she raised as her own, Ja’Keithon B. Cotton; nieces she reared as her own, Ashley (Michael) Essex, Cheyanne Cotton, LaKysha Cotton, Kennerly Cotton and Ariana Cotton; two special nieces, Brittany Cotton and Patricia Campbell; her godchildren, Jhamarrick Campbell, Bria Forrest and Ashley Dyson; best friends who were like sisters, Makiltra Perkins and Antonia (Darrel) Self; special friends, Angela (Robert) Wilson, Kimberly (Bobby) Showers and Deborah Graves; uncles, William (Catherine) Peters, Glynn (Dorothy) Cotton, Floyd Owens and Rev. Willie Imes; aunts, Donna V. Jackson, Bonnie M. Foster, Doris (Mike) Jason, Hilda Peters, Carolyn Peters, Irene Peters and Leola Peters; her pastor she loved dearly, Rev. Raymond Mims; the Greater Ebenezer church family; and a host of other nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews, first cousins, family and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Cullie and Claudette Cotton; her grandparents, Rev. Walter and Annie Peters and David and Bonnie Mae Cotton; a brother, Kenneth Cotton; a niece, Kristian Cotton; uncles, Ottis Cotton, C.L. Peters, Howard Peters, Zebedee Peters and Glenn Peters; and aunts, Earline Weary, Deborah (Ed Lee) Taylor, Audrey Owens, Ellen Imes and Neita Rae Evans.

Visitation will be Friday, April 4, at Crain and Sons Funeral Home in Bogalusa from 2-6 p.m., followed by a family hour from 6-7 p.m.

The funeral service will be conducted on Saturday at 1 p.m. at Greater Ebenezer Baptist Church, with The Rev. Dr. Raymond Mims officiating. Interment will be follow in Bogalusa Cemetery.
