MCDONALD

Gerald “Big Mac” McDonald, 63, a resident of Gonzales, passed away Tuesday, March 25, 2014, at Promise Hospital in Baton Rouge.

Born in Bogalusa on July 2, 1950, Gerald was a loving husband, father, grandfather and brother.

He is survived by his loving wife of 40 years, Kathy N. McDonald; two daughters, Heidi McDonald (Daniel) Arnold and Tammy Riley (Ronald); one son, Heath Charles (Jody) McDonald; four sisters, Geraldine Margiotta, Sandra Garner, Cheri Sumrall and Elizabeth (David) Hall; grandchildren, Kayla Arnold, Katie Arnold, Kaitlyn Arnold, Alyssa McDonald, Alyvia McDonald, Adysen McDonald, Heyden McDonald, Chase Riley, Channing Riley, Cazmiara Knapp and Remington Knapp; a brother-in-law, Gary (Dejuana) Netto; sisters-in-law, Tammy Netto (Eddie) Harris and Charlotte Arceneaux; numerous nieces and nephews; and a special friend, Butch Sciortino.

His parents, Clyde McDonald and Vera Gerald McDonald, and two brothers, Roger McDonald and Charles McDonald, preceded him in death.

Visitation will be held Friday, March 28 at Poole-Ritchie Funeral Home, 216 Alabama Ave. in Bogalusa, from 5:30-9 p.m. Visitation will continue on Saturday, from 9 a.m. until time for the funeral service at 11 a.m. in the funeral home chapel, with the Rev. Harvey Stuart and the Rev. Bennett Mullings officiating. Interment will follow at Gerald Cemetery.
