Brenda Diannie Holmes, 55, departed this life Thursday, March 20, 2014, at her residence in Bogalusa.

She is survived by one son, Taurius Holmes of Bogalusa; two daughters, Crystal Holmes and Shamece Holmes of Bogalusa; six sisters, Ester (Donald) Magee, Ethel Holmes and Linda Holmes, all of Bogalusa, Jerrie Holmes of Angie, Edwina (Hyread Sr.) Mark of Angie and Tina Holmes of Houston; four brothers, Joseph (Linda) Holmes Jr. of Pearl River and Walter Holmes, Samuel Holmes and Oscar (Debra) Holmes, all of Angie; grandchildren, Tyran Holmes, Tyler Holmes, Quinterius Porter, Zamariyon Washington and Tremon Ratliff, all of Bogalusa, Jiren Forbes of Dallas, Texas and Xiren James of Dallas; a special friend, Clem Holloway of Slidell; five others she recognized as her sons, Todd Martin, Rodney Holmes and La’Nelus Holmes, all of Bogalusa, Da’Nelus Holmes of Baton Rouge and Ne’Ko Cardale Holmes of Bogalusa; Elroy Richard of Bogalusa, whom she recognized as a brother; and a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Joseph Sr. and Oveda Holmes, and one son, Larry V. Holmes Sr.

Visitation will be held Tuesday, March 25 from 2-5 p.m. in the chapel of Crain and Sons Funeral Home in Bogalusa. The funeral service will be held Wednesday at 2 p.m. at the funeral home, with the Rev. Stanley Nathaniel officiating. Internment will follow in Bogalusa Cemetery.
