BLACKWELL

Charles Edward Blackwell, 81, a resident of the Plainview Community, passed away Wednesday, March 12, 2014, at Resthaven Living Center in Bogalusa, surrounded by his wife and children.

Born in Bogalusa on July 20, 1932, he was a United States Army veteran and a retired mechanic. He loved playing music and traveling.

He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Audrey Tuttle Blackwell of Plainview; three children, Debbie Galloway of Isabel, and Ed (Cecilia) Blackwell and Suzone Graham, both of Plainview; a daughter-in-law, Carol Blackwell of Watson; one sister, Fay Tindall; 11 grandchildren; and 19 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by two sons, Rickey Blackwell and Charles Blackwell Jr.; his parents, Rev. Edmond F. and Ruby Blackwell; three brothers, Amos Blackwell, Ray Blackwell and Wayne Blackwell; a sister, Edna May Mohn; sons-in-law, Ronnie Galloway and Mickey Graham; two grandchildren, Justin Graham and Kristen Graham; and a great-grandson, Alex Galloway.

Visitation will be held Monday, March 17 at Poole-Ritchie Funeral Home from 9:30 a.m. until time for the funeral service at 2 p.m. in the funeral home chapel, with Pastor Michael Bassemier officiating. Interment will follow at Wallace Cemetery.

Active pallbearers will be Aaron Hines, and grandsons Joey Galloway, Jimmy Galloway, Tony Solano, Shaon Meaux and Jonathan Crain.
