John Henry Coyle, 78, died at 8:10 a.m. Thursday, March 6, 2014, at his residence in Franklinton.

Born Dec. 23, 1935, he was the owner/operator of his welding shop, a dairyman and a truck driver. He enjoyed woodworking, and he loved spending time drinking coffee with his buddies at the Palace.

He is survived by three daughters, Jennifer Day of Zachary, Alisa Piar and Wade of Chesterton, Ind., and Johnna Jenkins of Mt. Hermon; his grandchildren and spouses, Jeremy and Danielle Piar, Ryan and Shana Piar, Justin Jenkins and Jenna Varnado, Jessica Crain, Jamey Jenkins and Max Day; his great-grandchildren, Abigail, Gretchen and Andrew Piar, Calem and Ayda Piar, Brayden and Bryson Jenkins and Kinsley Crain; and a sister-in-law, Brenda Coyle of Franklinton.

He was preceded in death by his parents, William Thomas an Hilda Bond Coyle; a son-in-law, Buddy Jenkins; and four brothers, Laverne “Sonny” Coyle, Jackson Coyle, Jimmy Coyle and Patrick Coyle.

Visitation will be Sunday, March 9 at Crain Funeral Home from 4-8 p.m., and will continue on Monday from 11 a.m. until time for the funeral service at 2 p.m. in the funeral home chapel, with Dr. Gene Richards and Dr. Joe Baugh officiating.

Honorary pallbearers will be his grandchildren, Justin Jenkins, Jamey Jenkins, Ryan Piar, Jeremy Piar, Max Day and Jessica Crain, and close friends, Karl Bickham Jr. and Fred Toney, and the late Karl Bickham.
