BOWMAN

Ida Pearl Bowman, 75, was called home to be with the Lord Tuesday, March 4, 2014, at St. Tammany Parish Hospital.

She was born in Tylertown, Miss., on May 1, 1938, and was a resident of Pine. She was retired from Winn-Dixie’s deli and bakery department. She was a devoted member of Mt. Olive Missionary Baptist Church and enjoyed singing in the church choir. She loved helping others and spending time with her family and friends. She never met a stranger and will be remembered and loved by many.

She is survived by her husband, Vernon E Bowman; three sons, Tony (Theresa) Bowman of Bogalusa, Kenny (Annette) Bowman of Jonesboro, Ark., and George (Joyce) Galloway of Thomas.

She was the loving grandmother of Randi Bowman, Ashley Bowman, LeAnne Mangrum, Jordan Gerald, Michelle Stafford, Kim Magee, Crystal Hill, Bo Hunter Bowman and George Galloway Jr., and great-grandmother of Blayne Bowman, Mason Bowman, Aubrey Creel, Shane Seals, Kylee Seals, Levi Seals, Kaylynn Gerald, Megan Matherne, Lilly Hill and Grayson Galloway.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Ollie and Pearlie Magee; a son, Ronnie Bowman; two brothers, Clyde Magee and Wilbert Magee; and a sister, Waver Graves.

A memorial service will be held at 9 a.m. on Saturday, March 8 at Mt. Olive Missionary Baptist Church.

Poole-Ritchie Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
