Wilva Mae Diddon Garcia, 80, died at 1:30 p.m. Sunday, March 2, 2014, at her residence in Mt. Hermon.

Born on Jan. 24, 1934, she was a member of Mt. Hermon United Pentecostal Church. She enjoyed reading, working crossword puzzles, watching hummingbirds outdoors and tending to her plants and flowers.

She is survived by three sons and daughters-in-law, Jerry and Gayle Garcia of Philadelphia, Miss., and Randall and Suzonne Garcia Raymond and Darlene Garcia, all of Mt. Hermon; a daughter and son-in-law, Diana and Marc Brocato of Amite; a brother and sister-in-law, Bobby and Lorraine Diddon of Bolivar; a sister and brother-in-law, Shirley and Blackie Movant of Breaux Bridge; 11 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Her parents, Leonard and Linnie Mae Tate Diddon, and two brothers, A.J. Diddon and J.D. Diddon, preceded her in death.

Visitation was held Monday, March 3 at Mt. Hermon United Pentecostal Church from 5-9 p.m. Visitation continued on Tuesday from 9 a.m. until time for the funeral service at 2 p.m., with the Rev. Randall Garcia, the Rev. Raymond Garcia and the Rev. Jerry Garcia officiating. Burial followed in the church cemetery.
