RATCLIFF

Mary Jeanette Ratcliff, 71, a resident of Franklinton who was born Oct. 25, 1942, went to be with her Lord at 6 a.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 26, 2014.

She was a lifelong member of Trinity Baptist Church, which she cared for deeply and served for many years as church treasurer. Mary was an accountant for nearly 40 years at Kaylor Bookkeeping and thoroughly enjoyed her work. She served for many years on the Washington Parish 911 board and enjoyed going out to eat with friends and family.

In earlier years, Mary enjoyed playing softball, and in later years she loved playing dominoes and the card game Phase 10 and eating her favorite Blue Bell ice cream any time she could.

She is survived by five sisters and brothers-in-law, Myrna Goings of Franklinton, Barbara Riley of Mt. Hermon, Sharon and Dewitt Perry of Enon, Delores and Russell Cornette of Greensburg and Sheila and Tim Stafford of Stateline, Miss.; a brother and sister-in-law, Bill and Evelyn Ratcliff of Franklinton; and a sister-in-law, Carolyn Ratcliff of Picayune, Miss.

She was a special aunt to her numerous nieces, nephews and great-nieces and great-nephews.

Mary had a caring place in her heart for her pet Yorkie, Samuel.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Fleet W. Ratcliff and Etta Gill Ratcliff; a brother, Talmadge Ratcliff; and a brother-in-law, Price Goings.

Visitation will be held Friday, Feb. 28 at Trinity Baptist Church from 10 a.m. until time for the funeral service at noon, with the Rev. Walter Mixon, the Rev. Fredrick Brumfield and Dr. Joe Baugh officiating. Burial will follow in Morris Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, the family prefers donations to the Trinity Baptist Church Building Fund.

The family would like to extend a sincere thank you to Linda Green and Ralee Wascom for their loving care and support of Ms. Mary.

Pallbearers are Scott Goings, Michael Goings, Jeff Goings, Billy Ratcliff, Mark Riley and Matt Stafford.
