JACKSON

Leola (Creola) Jackson was so full of joy God decided to take her home on Saturday, Feb. 15, 2014.

She was born on Aug. 24, 1938, to the late Eugene (Mardessa) Magee. She accepted Christ at an early age and joined St. John Temple Church of God in Christ, under the leadership of Bishop J.W. White in Bogalusa. She united with New Zion Baptist Church under the leadership of the Rev. Dr. Linza Cotton. She was a faithful member who loved her pastor and the saints of God. She attended Poplas Central Memorial High School. Reading the Bible and talking Jesus to others was her joy.

She leaves to cherish her memories four sons, Issac Jackson of Varnado, Lucain Jackson of Jackson, Miss., and Greg Jackson and Clay Jackson, both of Bogalusa; three daughters, Eva Mae Jackson of Bogalusa, and Bertis Jackson and Chineisa (Rev. Jesse) Moses, both of Varnado; one brother, Eugene Magee of Hammond; two sisters-in-law, Linda Magee of Bogalusa and Rosie M. Magee of Columbia, Miss.; a special granddaughter and caregiver, Sandra Jackson; and special friends, Harlen Murray and Jean Caldwell of Varnado.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Bert Jackson Sr.; her parents, Eugene (Madessa) Magee; three brothers, James, Myrtis and Charles Magee; one sister, Lula Mae Crain; one brother-in-law, Walter Jackson; one great-great granddaughter by Malcolm (Boo-Boo) Jackson; one grandbaby, Rebecca Magee; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, relatives and friends.

Visitation will be Friday, Feb. 21 at Cook-Richmond Funeral Home from 2-6 p.m. The funeral service will be Saturday at 1 p.m. at New Zion Baptist Church in Varnado, with the Rev. Linza Cotton officiating.

Interment will follow in Robinson Cemetery.
