Members of Varnado High School’s Future Farmers of America competed at the Area IV Regional Spring Career Development Events (CDE’s) held on Feb. 5 at the Lamar Dixon Livestock arena in Gonzales. Three of the five teams returned from the competition with pennants: Small Engine teams place second and fourth, and the Nursery Landscape team placed third.

All three of these teams now advance to the state level of competition, which will be held Thursday, March 6 at Louisiana State University. In addition to LSU, sponsors include Associated Builders and Contractors of Baton Rouge and the Louisiana FFA Association.

The other VHS teams competing were Dairy Products and Poultry Judging.
