Motorcycle parade to benefit local law enforcement officer

This year’s annual Mardi Gras motorcycle parade will be run on Saturday, March 1.

Registration and 50/50 begins at 10:30 a.m. at the Texaco station on Louisiana Highway 21 South (same location as in the past). Anyone can donate to the benefit, whether riding or not.

Bikes will depart after 12:30 p.m., with the 50/50 to be drawn before bikes leave. Each bike will pay a $20 donation and receive an armband, and proceeds will help defray cancer treatment expenses for a local law enforcement officer.

Helmets are not required while riding the parade route. All types of bikes are welcome, as are all motorcycle clubs, riding clubs, organizations and independent riders. Also, everyone is welcome to bring Mardi Gras throws, but please be careful when throwing larger beads or other objects so that kids down’t get hurt.
