MAGEE

Earl Magee, 94, passed away Friday, Feb. 7, 2014, at his residence in Bogalusa.

Earl was born in Washington Parish on May 9, 1919. He retired from the Gaylord Container Corporation’s Bogalusa paper mill and the St. Tammany Parish Sheriff’s Office.

He is survived by his children, Larry (Patsy) Magee, Brenda Miley, Gary (Cheryl) Magee, Diane (Daniel) Slocum, Kathy (Lindon) Warner and Glenn (Brigitte) Magee; a son-in-law, Christopher Smith; a daughter-in-law, Susan Magee; his sister, Dorothy (Joe) Melilli; 20 grandchildren; 43 great-grandchildren; and 14 great-great-grandchildren.

His wife, Selena Jenkins Magee; two children, Charlotte Smith and Terry Magee; and his parents, Wilson Magee and Lula Dee King Magee, preceded him in death.

Visitation was held Saturday, Feb. 8 at Mt. Zion United Pentecostal Church, 18018 Lee Road in Franklinton from 5-10 p.m.

Visitation will continue on Sunday from 10 a.m. until time for the funeral services at 2 p.m., with Bro. Leon Hickman and Bro. Caleb Herring officiating. Interment will follow at Magee Cemetery.

Active pallbearers are Kevin Magee, Will Magee, Shayne Magee, Blake Warner, Josh Miley, Dustin Magee, Brian Sammons, Timothy Slocum, Craig Sammons and Jared Smith. Honorary pallbearers are Danny Hyatt, Marcus King, Wayne Myers, Tillman Stogner, Donnie Wells, Jim Silvestri, Patrick Theriot, Myron Crowe, Wayne Breen, Scott Burch, Keith Thomas, Duane Fuller, Roy Evans and Chris Sinclair.
