Chinesa Martin Thomas, 73, died at 12:25 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 2, 2014, at her residence in Thomas.

Born on March 8, 1940, she was a member of Crain’s Creek Missionary Baptist Church.

She is survived by her husband of 53, years, Bobby Earl Thomas of Thomas; two sons and a daughter-in-law, Bobby Earl Thomas Jr. and Teki, and Rocky Tyrone Thomas, all of Thomas; a daughter and son-in-law, Pamela Joyce and Aadron Tagert of Thomas; her grandchildren, Jessica Elizabeth and G T Boone, Miranda Chantel Thomas, Kayla Danielle Thomas, Robbie Gerald, April Tagert and Jonathan Tagert; a great-granddaughter, Aria Gail Boone; a brother and sister-in-law, Ray Henry and Belinda Martin of Bogalusa; and numerous nieces and nephews

Her parents, Henry and Dessie Carnegie Martin, and two sisters, Janice Varnado and Fayola Thompson, preceded her in death.

Visitation was held Monday, Feb. 3 at Crain Funeral Home from 5-9 p.m. Visitation continued on Tuesday at Crain’s Creek Missionary Baptist Church from 9 a.m. until time for the funeral service at noon, with Elder Richard Magee and Elder Willie J. Passman officiating. Burial followed in the Caulie Thomas Family Cemetery.
