Hazel Mulford Thompson, 89, passed away Tuesday, Jan. 28, 2014, at Resthaven Living Center in Bogalusa.

She was born in Foxworth, Miss., on Nov. 2, 1924, and was a member of Main Street Baptist Church.

She is survived by two daughters, Judy (Wallace) Quinn and Wanda Varnado, both of Bogalusa; four grandchildren, Jason Q. Quinn, Lori Quinn Harris, Colby Varnado Albasini and Charles Earl “Chad” Varnado Sr.; five great-grandchildren, Brendan Harris, Sophia Albasini, Joey Albasini, Conner Varnado and Carson Varnado.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Eddie A. Thompson; her parents, Monroe and Elizabeth Dunaway Mulford; her sisters and brothers, B. J. Mulford, Toxie Mulford, Claude Mulford, Hollis Mulford, Lovie Cooper and Lena Lance; and a son-in-law, Charles Varnado.

Visitation will be held Friday, Jan. 31at Poole-Ritchie Funeral Home from 5-9 p.m. Visitation will continue on Saturday from 9 a.m. until time for the funeral service at 2 p.m. in the funeral home chapel, with the Rev. Marcus Rosa and Chaplain Wayne Grant officiating. Interment will follow at Ponemah Cemetery.
