Paul Brett Fornea went to be with his Heavenly Father on Wednesday, Jan. 22, 2014.

Born on March 12, 1972, Paul Brett was his family’s “rock,” and was often described as being bigger than life. For 22 years he was a devoted father and husband to Paige Fornea.

He was known for having an excellent work ethic and encouraged his boys to let that be important in their lives. He was well-known for encouraging and coaching sports in the area. He was an avid sportsman and enjoyed hunting deer and turkey, and fishing.

Paul always encouraged his boys and others to have a strong foundation to face all. One of his favorite scriptures was Luke 6:48-49: “He is like the man which built an house, and dug deep, and laid the foundation on a rock; and when the flood arose, the stream beat vehemently upon the house, and could not shake it: for it was founded upon a rock. But he that heareth, and doeth not, is like a man that without a foundation built an house upon the earth; against which the stream did beat vehemently, and immediately it fell; and the ruin of that house was great.”

He was a member of Angie Baptist Church and attended with his family. He will be missed greatly and always remembered by his family and his many friends.

Paul was the son of Donald Ray Fornea and Iris Fornea; the husband of Paige Williams Fornea; the father of Colton Paul Fornea and Blake Brett Fornea; the brother of Tiffanie Fornea and Kirbi Herring, both of Covington, and Rebel and Seth Fornea of North Carolina; and the grandson of paternal grandmother Donis Fornea of Angie and maternal grandmother Mary Haaga of Bogalusa.

He was preceded in death by Mother Deborah Ann Mutter; maternal grandfather, Paul Mutter; paternal grandfather J.R. “Dude” Fornea; and a brother-in-law, Phil Smith.

Visitation was held Saturday, Jan. 25 at Angie Baptist Church from 5-9 p.m. Visitation will continue on Sunday from 9 a.m. until time for the funeral service 11 a.m., with the Rev. Larry Mizell officiating. Interment will follow in the Bonnie Cemetery in Angie.
