COUROULEAU

Edith Marian Johnson Courouleau, 81, passed away Friday, Jan. 24, 2014, at Northshore Specialty Hospital in Covington.

She was born in Cleveland, Ohio, on March 15, 1932, and was Franklinton resident for many years. She had retired from civil service and had also been a stewardess with Capital Airlines. For many years she made and sold woodcrafts at the Washington Parish Free Fair, and also enjoyed gardening and working with telecommunications equipment.

She is survived by her son Armand Paul Courouleau; her daughter, Collette Noelie Courouleau (spouse of Darwin R. Sharp), her grandson, Jeremy Allen Courouleau; her nephews, Lin Johnson and Lowell Johnson (spouse of Laureen Johnson); her niece, JoLean Johnson; one great-niece, Laura Johnson; two great-nephews, Ryan Johnson and Patrick Johnson; and numerous nieces and nephews by marriage.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Armand George Courouleau; her parents, Leroy E. Johnson and Gertrude Hansford Johnson; her twin sister, Edna M. Johnson Jenkins; and her brother, Charles Walter Johnson.

A graveside funeral service will be held Sunday, Jan. 26 at 2 p.m. at Sunlight Baptist Church Cemetery.
