SEYMORE

Leona Seymore, 80, entered into eternity peacefully Thursday, Jan. 15, 2014, at Riverside Medical Center of Franklinton.

She was born in Greensburg on July 3, 1933, to Estella Johnson and George Johnson.

She leaves to cherish her memories a loving stepson, Frank Seymore Jr.; six brothers, Ervin (Beatrice) Haywood of Franklinton, Joseph (Claudia) Haywood of Tyler, Texas, Bobby (Margaret) Johnson, Paul (Beatrice) Johnson of Baton Rouge, Roger (Santell) Johnson and Walter (Joyce) Haywood of Greensburg; seven sisters, Wahrena Waller of San Leandro, Calif., Annie Grace of Franklinton, Jackie Hart, Betty Johnson, Dorothy Spears, Helen Spears of Greensburg and Drana (Erine) Knighten of Baker; three loving step-grandchildren, Danielle Seymor of Houston, Javier Seymore of New York, N.Y., and Frank Seymore of Houston; two caring godchildren, Nehemia Butler and Akira Jones; very special family members Geraldine Cooper, Jessie Haywood, Betty Franklin, Betty West, Madge West, Robert West and Rose West; and a host of very special and loving nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

She will be sadly missed.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Frank Seymore; three sisters, Cora Haywood, Erma Burton and Birtha McKay; one brother, Samual Haywood; and two godchildren, LaRunda Pitts and Damian Jenkins.

Visitation will be held Wednesday, Jan. 22 at Crain and Sons Funeral Home in Franklinton from 2-6 p.m., with a family hour from 6-7 p.m.

The funeral service will be held on Thursday at 11 a.m. at Sweet Rest Baptist Church, with the Rev. Mallery Callahan Sr. officiating. Interment will follow in Sweet Rest Cemetery.
