STRAHAN

Dianne Mitchell Strahan, 66, a resident of Ponchatoula, died at 10:29 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 12, 2013, at North Oaks Medical Center.

Born Nov. 27, 1947, she was a longtime resident of Franklinton who enjoyed dancing and collecting and wearing her cowboy boots. Dianne loved to get dressed up, complete with a lot of her shining gold jewelry. She was very active in the rodeo, and was a member of the Professional Rodeo Cowboys Association, the International PRCA and the regional Tri-State Rodeo Association. She was an official timer of the Angola Prison Rodeo.

She is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Lisa Strahan O’Donnell and Phil O’Donnell of Hammond; two sons and a daughter-in-law, Brian Strahan of Ponchatoula and Rick and Racheal Strahan of Mt. Hermon; four grandchildren, Lane Clevenger, Aidan O’Donnell, Donovan O’Donnell and Isabella Strahan; a brother, Bill Mitchell of Tangipahoa; and a stepson and his spouse, Dustin and Jennifer Thomas, and their children Laiken and Lexy.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Walter Richard Strahan; her mother, Lizzie Johnson Morris; a sister, Gladys Holiday; and three brothers, Charles Brown, Arbie Mitchell and Jim Brown.

Visitation will be held Monday, Dec. 16 at Crain Funeral Home from 9 a.m. until time for the funeral service at 11 a.m. in the funeral home chapel. Burial will follow in the Strahan Cemetery.
