SEAL

In a peaceful home going, surrounded by his loving wife and friends, Murray “M.L.” Seal Jr., 78, went to meet our Lord at 3 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 10, 2013.

He was born in Varnado on Jan. 9, 1935, to the union of Murray and Nannie Moore Seal. He retired from the Louisiana Department of Revenue, and was a charter member of Baton Rouge Landmark Baptist Church. He enjoyed watching television, especially westerns, and law and order shows, and was also an avid fan of gospel music.

He is survived by his wife of 17 years, Susan B. Seal; a son, Leonard Seal III; four stepchildren, Steve, Arthur and Wayne Freeman, and Mary Achee; a granddaughter, Angelle Renee’ Seal; and a host of nieces, nephews and step-grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, his first wife, Glenna Mae Seal; his siblings, Troy and Glenn Seal, and Elizabeth Raines; and a stepdaughter, Margaret Eagan, preceded him in death.

Visitation will be held Saturday, Dec. 14, at Lanier Baptist Church, 4851 Lanier Drive in Baton Rouge, from 8 a.m. until time for the funeral service at 10 a.m. A graveside service will be held at 3 p.m. at Seal Cemetery in Varnado.

The family extends their heartfelt appreciation to Dr. Atallah and the staff of Baton Rouge General Mid-City, for their care and service.

Memorials to the Lions Eye Foundation are preferred.
