Glenda Burdeaux Adams celebrated her 70th birthday recently, and as a double cancer survivor she reminds everyone that survival is about keeping a positive attitude and remembering His promise that if God brings you to it, He will bring you through it.

Sixty family and friends gathered to surprise her with a celebration of life and to give thanks for three years breast cancer free.

Adams was diagnosed in 2009 with stage 3 triple negative ductile carcinoma breast cancer. Now, one lump, four surgeries, six rounds of chemo and 33 radiations later, Adams has earned the title of being a Survivor with a capital S. At the party, a total of $1,700 was collected and donated in her honor to The Breast Foundation in Baton Rouge, where Dr. Robert Elliott and his staff went above and beyond in helping to save her life.

When first diagnosed, Adams would explain that even though some referred to her as having the Big C, cancer, she proudly reminded them that her big C was Christ, and she knew without a doubt He would walk with her through this journey. And He did just that.

However, in 2011 she was diagnosed with thyroid cancer. A total thyroidectomy was done.

But Glenda Adams continues to walk with God by her side. She keeps a positive attitude, and never forgets: If God brings you to it, He will bring you through it.
