Mt. Hermon native places in Miss Southeastern pageant

Crystal Gonzalez of Hammond has been chosen Miss Southeastern 2014, while Jasmine Tate of Mt. Hermon was third runner-up.

Gonzalez received her crown from Miss Southeastern 2013 Renee’ Picou of Livingston at the annual pageant on Saturday, Nov. 2 at Southeastern Louisiana University’s Pottle Music Building Auditorium. Sponsored by the Campus Activities Board, the pageant is affiliated with the Miss America Pageant system.

A junior, Gonzalez also received the Interview Award, the Lifestyle and Fitness Award and the “People’s Choice” Award. She will advance to the Miss Louisiana pageant, which will be held in Monroe in June.

Tate, a junior communications major, also received the Miracle Maker Award and tied with Kate Fussell of Covington for the Miss Congeniality Award.

First runner-up was Erin St. Pierre of Larose, and Hailee Weber of Destrehan was second runner-up.
