Malinda L. Brock Owens, 94, passed away Thursday, Nov. 14, 2013, at her residence, Golden Living Home in Milwaukee, Wis.

The eldest of nine children, she was born in Mt. Hermon on Dec. 17, 1918, to Janie and Grant Brock. She was united in holy matrimony in Bogalusa on Aug. 15, 1941, to Willmon T. Owens, and they were blessed with five children.

Malinda relocated to Milwaukee in the early 1990s, where she joined Cross Lutheran Church. She remained a faithful member of the church, and the Cross Lutheran Adult Center, until she was no longer able to attend.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Willmon T. Owens; her parents, Janie and Grant Brock; and six brothers, Fred Brock, Frank Brock, Luther Brock, Purvis Brock, Percy Brock and Eugene Brock.

She leaves to mourn her passing her five children, Richard, Shirley, Doris, Jessie and Jada; three sisters, Arlene, Ora and Bertha; two sisters-in-law; and a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, other relatives and friends.

Visitation will be held Saturday, Nov. 23 at Cross Lutheran Church, 1821 N. 16th St. in Milwaukee, from 9 a.m. until time for the funeral service at 10 a.m. Interment will follow at Lincoln Memorial Cemetery.
