Air Force Reserve Airman Krystal A. Hernandez graduated recently from basic military training at Joint Base San Antonio-Lackland, San Antonio.

Hernandez, the granddaughter of Geraldine and GErald Hernandez of Carriere, Miss., completed an intensive, eight-week program that included training in military discipline and studies, Air Force core values, physical fitness, and basic warfare principles and skills.

Those who complete basic training earn four credits toward an associate in applied science degree through the Community College of the Air Force.

She is a 2008 graduate of Pearl River Central High School in Carriere, and she received an associate degree in 2012 from Antonelli College in Hattiesburg, Miss.
