Members of the Bogalusa chapter of AARP, Local 4032, and President Willene Ellzy welcomed Senior Director for AARP Louisiana Nancy McPherson to its regular meeting in September.

McPherson leads a team which includes her staff and volunteer advocates charged with advancing reforms for livable communities, healthcare and financial security at the local, state and national levels on behalf of AARP’s almost 500,000 Louisiana members. She has a background in law enforcement and is co-founder of the International Problem Oriented Policing Conference, which recently celebrated its 19th year finding best practices in community problem solving throughout the world.

McPherson has also been the recipient of the Gary Hayes Leadership Award, given by the Police Executive Research Forum to one police professional nationwide for leadership and inspiration.
