SUMRALL

Bob Charles Sumrall, 72, died at 7:17 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 9, 2013, at his home in Franklinton.

Born Feb. 28, 1941, he was a 1958 graduate of Thomas High School and a member of First Baptist Church of Franklinton. He was a veteran of the U.S Army National Guard and the Merchant Marines, and before retiring was a longtime livestock inspector for the Louisiana Department of Agriculture. He enjoyed gardening and planting trees, but his favorite pastime was surely hunting and fishing. He always loved spending time with his family and friends and visiting with the people he met.

He is survived by one son, Clay Sumrall of Franklinton; a daughter, Laurie (Michael) Williams of Franklinton; two grandchildren, Miranda Williams (Jake) Blackwell and Cole Williams’ and two nieces and their families.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Charlie Benjamin Sumrall and Alberta Pigott Sumrall; a sister and brother-in-law, Nancy Sumrall Forrest and Larry Forrest; and an infant sister.

Visitation was held Monday, Nov. 11 at Crain Funeral Home from 6-9 p.m., and continues on Tuesday from 10 a.m. until time for the funeral service at 2 p.m. in the funeral home chapel, with Eld. Lerand Hunt officiating. Burial will follow in Ellis Cemetery.
