Johnny R. Lott

Brother Johnny R. Lott was born to the late Lucy and Troy Lott of Minden, La. on Sept. 19, 1927. He departed this life Friday, Nov. 1, at 1:15 p.m. at the age of 86.

He was a member of Sweet Home Church of Christ Holiness where he joined and dedicated his life to Christ under the leadership of Bishop Carl Austin.

He retired from Southern Electric Construction Company/Earl Martin after many years of dedication and hard work. On weekends he worked diligently at Woods’ Meat House.

He leaves to cherish his memories his very “loyal” and “devoted” wife of 55 years, Ella Ruth Lott of Franklinton; one daughter, Debra Taylor of Bogalusa; a special son-in-law, Charles Taylor of Bogalusa; two granddaughters, Christy (Chris) Montgomery of Kenner and Latessa Brown of Folsom; one special niece, Brenda Vinerette of Waterford, Mich.; two sisters, Verna May (Walter) Morgan of Minden and Mosselle Johnson of Chicago, Ill; one special nephew, Donald “Duck” Morgan of Baton Rouge; and many other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by both parents; four brothers; four sisters; and one son, Vincent D. Lott.

The visitation will be held Wednesday, Nov. 6 at Sweet Home Church of Christ Holiness in Franklinton from 10 a.m. until time for the funeral at 1 p.m., with Eld. Washington Drake, pastor, officiating. The interment will be in Sweet Home Cemetery.
