Mt. Hermon dropped to 0-5 Friday with a 42-6 loss to Northlake Christian School in a District 8-2A contest at home.

Northlake Christian (5-0, 2-0), the sixth-ranked Class 2-A team by the Louisiana Sportswriters Association, went up 28-0 in the opening period then added seven each in the second and third to go up 42-0 through three.

“That’s a good team,” Mt. Hermon coach Henry Crawford said. “They have some good-looking athletes. We couldn’t stop them on defense, and we couldn’t move it on offense.”

Crawford said his team played tough through the end.

The Yellow Jackets avoided the shutout when D.J. Elzey found Logan McGregor for a 30-yard touchdown.

Crawford said linebacker/tight end Chris Wilkerson played well for his club.

“He was in on a lot of tackles, and he was around the ball defensively,” Crawford said.

Mt. Hermon travels to play Springfield Friday.
