Blanche “Juanita” Miller Parker, 72, departed this life surrounded by her family Tuesday, Sept. 10, 2013.

She is survived by her sons, Herbert “Ken” Parker Jr., of Iowa, La., and Chester (Ophelia) Abram of Bogalusa; daughters, Pamela Parker and Ingrid “Juana” Parker, both of Iowa; brothers, Hershey (Gloria) Miller Jr. of Houston and Wilford Miller of Iowa; sisters, Dorothy (Melvin) Rougeau and Jennie (Edward) Rious, both of Lake Charles, and Nancy Wilson (Frank) of Houston; 14 grandchildren; and 16 great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Rev. Herbert Parker Sr.; her parents, Rev. Hershey and Mrs. Emma Dugas Miller Sr.; her sister, Thelma (Wilson) Victorian; and two brothers, Roosevelt (Joyce) Miller Sr. and Nelson “Boy Boy” Miller.

Visitation will be Friday, Sept. 13, in Johnson & Brown Funeral Home, 505 Highway 90 East, Iowa, from 2-9 p.m. and will continue Saturday at Zion Travelers Missionary Baptist from 11 a.m. until the time of service at 1 p.m., with the Rev. Herman Weston officiating. Burial will follow in Lorrain Cemetery in Hayes.
